About Us

The Canadian Autism Intervention Research Network (CAIRN) is a consortium of researchers, parents, professionals, and policy makers from across Canada that is dedicated to using a repeating cycle of defining the research agenda, conducting research, disseminating the findings, and receiving feedback, which is then used to redefine the agenda (The Research Iterative Loop) to improve diagnostic methods and interventions in autism spectrum disorders.

The CAIRN Web site is committed to posting the best available evidence-based findings on autism spectrum disorders.

Our Web site provides

  • literature review results presented in the form of structured abstracts that are accessible to all audiences
  • reports on the activities of Project GEAR (Generating Early Autism Research)
  • information about research projects in which families can participate
  • accounts of CAIRN conferences
  • the opportunity to take part in our moderated discussion groups on topics related to autism spectrum disorders as registered participants

For information on how we carry out the literatures searches, conduct the critical appraisal of study reports, and write up our abstracts, please go to Purpose and Procedures.
