Current Research Findings - Causes

In this category we look at genetic, medical, and neurological causes of autistic symptoms. The aim is to find good quality studies that truly advance our understanding of the roots of autistic disorders. Quackery is rife on the Internet, so we look at studies of causes that are at least believable, that is, they are based on what is known about body chemistry, brain function, or human genetics. We don’t discard or ridicule the unlikely, but we will point out a lack of credibility in some studies.
